Based on statistical key performance indicators from our organization, public opinion user surveys and interviews with leading experts from the Danish art scene TOVES evaluates its own performance in the year 2014. Pointing towards the publication of a TOVES 2014 annual report the pie chart furniture at Alt_CPH serves as a discourse sculpture gathering facts, opinions and conversations every time it is exhibited. It was recently shown at Import Projects in Berlin, for which it hosted a panel debate concerning artist run exhibition spaces as well as a series of performances. For this edition TOVES is digging deeper into the stats and figures associated with its 2014 programme, in hope of uncovering shady perspectives and focus upon blurred strategies.

Danish artist Uffe Isolotto has been commisioned to layout the report as his own piece of work, reflected in the sculpture by scattered graphics on the furniture. Taking a point of departure in his earlier graphic novel Dana Plato’s Cave bringing together child actress to be pornstar Dana Plato and the classic Greek philosopher’s Allegory of the Cave by association of name, Isolotto detects an overlap of calculaton and desire in the annual report project, and thus brings together Ada Lovelace and Linda Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer and famed pornstar from the 70’s classic Deep Throat, respectively, in a new bastard narrative.
